Congratulations Sven, I’m sure you helped quite a few doubters about this working or not. Since I see no “notch” etc. that the dealer has mentioned, I believe you proved it can be done. Now to see the tire mounted and the display on the speedo and on the Boom GTS working would be the cherry on top. I hope to do the same on my 2019 SGS when I need tires. Thanks!

The mentioned notch is crap!
You don’t need it.
All is fitting Fine.

Here is a picture of a Goldwing wheel with same sensor. There is also no notch.

the dealers has simply no idea.

Does the sensor you put in have a 90 stem?

Yes the TPMS sensors will delivered with 90 angle valve steams.
You can also use another valve steam. But you need one with metric thread.

And its doesnt matter if its machine cut or powder coated.

It seems you have many doubts and dont trust this.

I want this to work as much as the next guy, but there is usually a reason why things are the way they are. On top that it doesn’t make sense for the MoCo not to sell the sensors as a kit if its just a simple matter of putting in the sensors and turning them on.

The moco dont sell the Boom GTS for older models. It doesnt make sense too.

Maybe the dont sell it because they keep it as a CVO only feature?

There is a little more to the GTS then the TPMS.

This just looks way to easy. Which I hope is the case.

The MoCo usually push CVO stuff out after the first two years or so.

It’s the same thing like the GTS.
They could get working it on older models but they don’t do that. It’s only blocked by the GTS software.

You can see my photos and that the sensor fits. And you posted a photo of a CVO Wheel which looking exactly like my valve hole. And you still have doubts because you blindly trust what dealers say.

It fits on my wheel and there are some aftermarket system too with the same Sensor. Like Tire Watch System which fits too on Harley’s.

You can blindly trust your Harley Dealer.
I did the same mistake. They are good mechanics but they are dont good in electronics Knowledge.

Couple of things.
The CVO wheel doesn't look like yours...there is some type of bracing at the hole...it's there for a reason....I'm not an engineer so I don't know why.

Just because the sensor "fits" in the wheel doesn't mean it will function properly.

I'm NOT blindly trusting my dealer, as a matter of fact they never told me it wouldn't work. They only told me that both the radio and the gauges have separate turn on points for TPMS and they both CAN be turned on. The tech I always talk to about this type of stuff said he did it on his own bike, but that's s far as he went,

I understand the electronics part....I have working front to rear wired comms on my 2019 Road Glide Special that it isn't supposed to have that I personally put in it. I use it every time my wife rides with me. So it is fact that it can be done.

As much as I want this TPMS to work right now it is just theory with some unanswered questions. One being, what is the reason for the bracing on the inside of the rim on the CVO wheels for, and the second is, will the radio/gauges actually read the sensors once activated.

I'm pulling for you to get this working, it's just that I'd like to know all the answers before I commit time and money.
