Sell bike stock or with Stage IV

Are you asking if you can get more for the bike if it has a stage IV. If you find the right buyer, yes. Does it already have a stage IV or are you considering installing it? If it’s stock now and you’re planning to sell it I wouldn’t do the stage because you’ll never recoup the cost for the stage kit and labor. If it has the kit already and you’re thinking of putting it back stock, if you don’t do the work yourself you’ll have the expense of labor. I doubt that you would get enough for a used stage kit to make it worthwhile.

The 2017 RGS I had with the SE stage III failed on me after 15,500 miles. I traded that bike in with the engine torn down, the dealer repaired the bike under the factory warranty and it sold immediately once back together. I was surprised it sold so fast, Dealer said it was the stage III that sold the buyer on it.

Im thinking his bike already has the stage kit installed, and he has the stock stuff at home and wants to hear if folks think he should put the stock stuff back on if it will help sell the bike. Thats how I took his question.

That's how I understood it too, but either way I agree with mjwebb; whether the Stage IV is under warranty or not could make a very big difference to an informed buyer.
