What I'll Do for the Trans Fluid Transfer Problem
I have three ways to approach the transmission oil transferring to the primary. My second '19 POS Limited will transfer enough fluid in 200 miles to disappear off of the stick!
1. Replace primary drain plug with a petcock. When I burn a tank of fuel I can just open the petcock and drain a few ounces. I can then pour it back in the transmission.
or
2. Pump the transmission full of chassis grease. Let's see that transfer.....
or
3. Replace my second POS 2019 Limited with a 2019 Goldwing Tour.
Yes I have a case of the a$$. My first '19 Limited sumped at 7,400 miles. Sumped again 30 miles after SB M1450 was performed. I told Harley and the dealer I never wanted to see that POS again. Dealer traded me out of it for $$$$ after they had it for 5 weeks of prime riding weather.
And along comes the second '19 Limited. Didn't think I could be so flippin' unlucky to get two LEMONs in a row. I was wrong. As mentioned above this thing will transfer enough oil in just a tank of fuel to disappear off of the stick. I've lost all faith in the MOCO's ability to build a roadworthy motorcycle. Definitely can't build a "Touring" bike I can trust. The issues I'm experiencing are worse than any problem I had with my AMF bikes.
I ride between 18-30,000 every year. At least I've ridden that much 32 of the last 36 years! Put almost 24,000 miles on my '17 Limited in 14 months with no drivetrain issues. Been riding Harleys since '69.
FYI... I'm going with choice #3 as two of my friends already have. They both had '17 Limiteds. They were waiting to see how Harley and the dealer handled my problem. They saw how poorly it was handled by the MOCO and dealer. They're both on Wings already.
Dealer picked my 2 week old, 1,000 mile Limited up this morning to install a band aid for the transfer issue. Waiting to hear what's next.
Just got a call from the SM. Harley is overnighting a inner primary vent kit. Dealer will install Thursday. Let's hope this is a permanent fix for transfer and not just to slow it down. I'll let you know.

If it were me and I didn't turn my own wrenches, I'd buy the fat pushrod, have and indy install it. If I ever needed service in that area, I'd remove it first.

I hadnt really thought about the warranty, but on the other hand, this isn't an EPA thing, I would think they'd have to prove that the part caused the failure
