Default Rinehart set up question.

Hi,

To those of you guys that are running Rinehart head pipes and 4.5" slip-ons, are you guy happy with the set-up??

How does the bike (M8) performs with this set-up?

Did it give the M8 a nice decent torque without having a cam installed?

The reason I ask, just so that you know, I already have the 4.5" slip-ons on my bike (107) with the stock head-pipes and with a Cobra 2000 Black tunner and I really like the looks of the Rinehart head-pipe and wanted them to be my next addition to the bike but before I go for it, was just wanted to hear from those who are already running this set-up without a cam, how did the complete set-up worked on the M8?

A cam is in my wish list, but not for now.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

I have some advice. Ditch the cobra black tuner. They do absolutely nothing. Power vision is the way to go.

I had the rinehart 4.5’s with the cobra pro chamber header. Not much different from stock. Very little difference in volume until I added the 22x cam.

I have the Rinehart dual slims and the 4.5 inch slip-ons on a 17 SGS M8-107. Performance was diminished with this set-up. Long story I bought a 2017 SGS and totaled it 6 months later, it was bone stock. Bought the exact same bike (with all the pieces attached), and before riding installed Rinehart header, slip-ons, and FP3. I have been telling my riding buddies either I had a very fast bike with the first one or the current bike is a dog. Spoke with FuelMoto the other day and basically they told me with this combination I had opened up the exhaust to much for the M8 engine. They recommended I put the stock mufflers back on, which I did. Rode about 120 miles last night with the tuner in auto, on the way home the bike behaved like the first one I owned. I hate the sound of the stock mufflers so have to figure something out however, there is no doubt in my mind the bike performed much better with the stock mufflers and the dual slim header. I am not slamming Rinehart, I love their stuff and have always run it however, it appears it may not be the best solution in my bikes case. All that being said I did not have a dyno tune performed either. I spoke with an Indy today and he believes he can tune it in with the 4.5" Rineharts so going to give a go hopefully next week.

The M8 exhaust from the factory is surprisingly free flowing. Most of the guys opting for headers are not rewarded with the same gains that we were used to with the twin cams.

Thank you guys for your help.

One more question.

Which aftermarket tuner is the overall best choice and user-friendly for the M8?

Depends on whether or not you care about your warranty. if you do then the SE tuner is your only option. If you don't care then I would say power vision or TTS.

Plus one for Power Vision, super easy to work, if keeping warranty isn't a concern
