Default Cough, sputter, misfire, something weird?? 19 RGS

Well, I'm not sure what to call it yet. I have a 2019 RGS with about 900 miles on it. I have had this happen three times so far. I'm moderately accelerating (not going over 4K RPM) and after I make the 5th to 6th rear shift the bike "stumbles" (coughs, sputters, misfires, clutch slips, sumping???)...not sure what to call it. While still on the throttle the engine looses power for half a second and then runs fine after that. I've tried to recreate, but it didn't do it. The last time it happened I was entering the highway off a long right hand clover leaf curve. Accelerated into traffic, made the final shift, then (cough, misfire, sump...??). Anyone experience something similar? I will be taking the bike in for its first service this week and I want to make sure I can describe the issue to the service department. Thanks in advance!

Is it closer to a bucking sensation, or bogging down? Any mods?

No idea.... but here's a couple of guesses; loose sparkplug(s), bad spark plug wires, vacuum leak, possibly A/C, timing.....Lastly bad gas.... Good luck and let us know. CSM-H

Mine has done something similar to what you are explaining but only in 2nd gear and it has only happened twice (once being Saturday). I have HD Stage 2 with torque cam. I am hoping it is maybe bad gas (both times happened on this tank and I got gas last Sunday at a “mom and pop” gas station. I plan to keep an eye on it and if it continues once I finish this tank this week I’ll mention it to the dealer so it’s documented.

I think that happened on my 2019 RG a couple of times....107 all stock. 1200 miles on the bike. In my case it was as I was shifting into 5th gear. The wierd thing is it happened on the same road in the same area as i got into 5th. it definitely wasn't a clutch slip as I was barely accelerating, and not a sumping issue since it happened so fast, .....almost as if the bike lost electrical power for a milli second...I will be keeping an eye on it.
If you take yours to the dealer and they can duplicate it and fix it, please keep us posted.

There’s been some gremlins reported that sound similar - intermittent, different things happening. The source seemed to be the right hand switch assembly.

Thanks everyone!! Only mods are CFR slip-ons, no ECU work or intake mods. I will take a look everyone's suggestions and see if I find anything.

Its pretty close to what Stickman53 describes. Just feels like something shuts down and then all is ok. Very unsettling the way it happens.

I'll update after my services are complete.

My new ‘19 has done it twice, both times in 5th gear. Almost feels like the transmission or final drive belt or something.

stro1965, according to your avatar I would for sure say seem's to be a belt problem.

Not a sumping issue... that's all I know for sure. Sounds like an electrical bug.
My 17 SE stage 2 Road Glide had a similar issue when letting off the clutch, bike would spit-sputter-misfire, etc. It was particularly concerning during slow speed handling. Dealer chased the issue and said I had a bad clutch switch. New switch and no more issue.
