That's faster than my wife absorbs my paycheck....and I didn't think that was possible.

I get not wanting to start over with a new dealer, but if you get one more pushback or boneheaded response, it is surely time.
I don't know if I'd have the patience if I was told 2 quarts was "absorbed"...

Does this sound like the transmission oil is migrating to the primary and the engine oil is hiding in the crankcase (sump) to anyone else? I have to ask if you idled the engine with the bike upright for a few moments to allow the oil pump the opportunity to scavenge the oil out of the crankcase and return it to the tank?

At any rate, the dealer should have been all over that.

I once heard an independent shop's comment on their local dealer, "I wouldn't let them change the oil in my lawn mower."

This is the engine oil as I checked when picking up from 1st service. I believe it to be over filled. I show service manager and suggested this is over filled. He again said the oil filter and new engine will soak that up.

this is dead cold on side stand.

Your "service manager" is either an idiot or ... wait, he's an idiot for sure .

Which begs the question, why aren't dealers wanting to address this issue for their customers?

Junker, you're not paying attention!!!! See post #9, follow the above directions and then show us the reading on the engine oil dipstick. Wake-up, because you are wasting our time with your improper procedure. It does look over filled from your photo, but you're not reading it HOT AFTER IDLING for TWO MINUTES then shutting it down and reading AFTER about TWO MINUTES. So, go for a 30 minute ride and then follow the correct procedure. Why aren't others seeing this, am I missing something? I'm starting to think Junker is a troll!Dutchy

I think you may have glossed over the part of the manual that says the level COLD should never be above halfway mark on the stick.
