Facebook Post
edit: not sure if this video will play for folks..but GMR Performance states that the loose oil jets have been a problem and oil leaking is definitely a major cause of the sumping problems they have seen

Steve Cole showed that to me when we did cam testing. He soaked the stock gaskets in lacquer thinner to remove the plastic before using them. He thought it was washing out and causing a leak. The fact that it comes out in pieces kind of supports that theory. One thing he noted was the size of the feed supplying the oiler. With that big of a hole the surface area with pressure on it on the oiler is greater than if the hole had been smaller. In other words, the psi is the same, but because of the bigger hole there is more area so more force is exerted on the oiler. The hole could have been much smaller and still supplied way more oil than the oiler would need.

Wonder how common this issue is? Harley increased the torque spec for the screws sometime during the 17 year model run. But it sounds like the screws bottom out first. Which would mean increasing the torque spec isn't doing anything. Seeing the pieces of plastic in the video is actually a good thing. As it show it isnt dissolving as initially reported on this forum.
