I've been using Harley Syn 3 up till now but going to switch to Amsoil next change. I can't remember how much I put in but I know I leave it down a quart from what Harley says then take it for a run then fill to about half way up the save zone.

Because Harley SYN 3 isn't a true full synthetic despite the double speak labeling?

Google "Castrol Mobil 1 lawsuit" and you'll see how HD gets away with labeling SYN-3 as a "full synthetic". It's made from Group III hydro-cracked oil from the ground; it's criminal what they charge for it considering what it really is.

I use Schaeffers, switched from Amsoil because it seems quieter and does run cooler. I put right at 4.25 quarts in it and drain 4 quarts out 5000 miles later at 33k miles now, no problems.
I think all modern oils are really good now days as long as they carry the correct api rating.
