.050" is about the absolute minimal thickness relative to the bore size. That's about one and a half times the thickness of a thumbnail, they do use a special high tensile strength material for these thin sleeve cylinders. For reference the factory M8 cylinder spigot thickness is as much as .160" depending on the bore size, as this varies between 107,114, & 117 engines.

What is thickness of your 128 cylinders for comparison?

hate to be a pain and playing the 20 questions game but inquiring minds and all..so the SE thinner than either yours or the factory ones, but using, as you say, "ta special high tensile strength material for these thin sleeve cylinders"....does this make it a wash so to speak, i.e, what's your professional opinion here comparing these variances and materials being used? thanks!

It appears the cylinder liner is made of the same material and thickness as the bolt on 110” kits Harley has been selling for the Twin Cams. I haven’t heard of any widespread failures and they worked great for me before I moved onto an M8.

I would disagree; plenty of issues with 110 cylinders during that period.
