The "new" stage 3 kits (second generation?) look like a great deal. The 107 now gets pumped up to 119 and the 114 goes to 122ci.. I'm pretty sure, anyway. I was never thrilled with the idea that the "standard" Road King didn't come with the 114. Now I'm seriously considering buying a new standard, and having the stage three 119 done before I ride home. The torque and and power numbers look great when compared to the 114. I say go for it! Then again, it's easy spending other people's money. Let us now if you pull the trigger.

I'm wondering if the "new" generation Stage 3 kit is still the better option for torque increase down low vs. the 131 stage 4 which gives more horsepower up top. Does the extra displacement of the 131 make it more powerful all throughout the rev range vs, the 122 or is it like the previous generation stage 3 vs. stage 4 where the stage 4 you had to ring it out more to feel the power while the stage 3 was better for low-mid range power...

I think the 122 can be a better option depending on riding style. I have the 131 in my ‘19 CVO SG and the way it performed with the compliant header was disappointing below about 3,000 RPMs. Once over 3,000 it will pull all the way to the red line. I had the header changed to the Fuel Moto 2/1/2 Jackpot and it really woke the 131 up in both performance and sound. I also added the H-D auto tuner.
If I had it to do over I would go with the 122 because of my riding style. I think the 131 is a great platform for someone wanting a warranty compliant hot rod. Me, I normally ride between 2k and 4,500 RPMs so the stage 3 122 would be my best option and half the price.
