Does this 107 have the latest and greatest oiling system?

 

Yes. '20 models and late '19 models.

 

I think it’s pretty crazy that it has taken this long to get something as basic as the lubrication system of engine right and to have deficient product out there for so long,

FFS, I would have thought that would have been one of the main things to get right in the early development of a new engine.

 

Seems some had issues. But many forget there are many that have never had any problems with a 2017 oil pump, sumping or transfer. So there is always more to the story.

 

I never had any issues with my 18 FLFSB I traded in, but it was always in the back of my mind.

 

I spent 36+ years in engine development in the jet engine world.

Sometimes problems were discovered in the real world that did not show up in testing (which was very intense).

It happens, and not because of incompetence or lack of testing.

 

i never worry. way more folks have no problem than do.

is that a 10 lobe and the latest & greatest is an 8?

 

There are 4 sprockets and the rear 2 are 8 lobes backside before the plate & seal
The factory one I replaced was a 10 lobe
