that is an unacceptable level of oil consumption, my 124 doesn't use any, when it was a 107 it used a little, which turned into a quart every 6-700 miles, which is why it's now a 124. Your bike is broke if it's using that much oil.

Agreed. My stock 114 used a quart in the 1500 miles it lived in my bike. I went on one long ride in Canada right after I bought it, and tore it down for the 128 right after. It might have used a half qt in 4000 miles after FuelMoto dyno tuned it, not sure as they changed oil right after the dyno, and I never checked it until I returned home. After that, she has been at half-mast on the stick always. I am trying to stick to the 3000 mile changes that FM recommends.

So you can put them up for sale here or ebay.... And recoup some of the cost of the kit.

If you already know that you want to do a stage 3 or 4 in the future, right now might be a good time to do it and save about 12hrs of labor on the kit installation.
THIS!! I don't understand why they are charging for parts and not pro-rata prices. There should be no labor. Man, if this was me I would be tearing some *** up over all this. I am very pissed consumer when I get the shaft. Hell, they should do the upgrade for FREE if you ask me. For the trouble.

My sons new 2020 uses about a quart of oil every 1500-2000 miles. It's obviously the shitty out of round cylinders they use and the rings won't seat. I told him to ride it red line until it blows up then maybe they'll fix it.

I don’t think the 122 kit comes with new heads. So, it would suck to get the 122 installed and still have to oil problem.

it doesn’t but they are replacing them under the warranty
they said today from the wear inside cylinders that the rings never seated

well for a couple grand you'll have a fresh new much more powerful engine so hopefully that will be a long term solid and fun runner for you

And on the other thread you and smitty901 are telling the OP "if you ride one, you`ll buy one"...........so now the M8 has shitty out of round cylinders and non seating rings - WTF, Blue smoke & oil pooling on the cylinders was discussed a while ago..........Maybe its the new M8 2 stroke Harley is getting ready to introduce. They had problems early on with initial start up and blue smoke - they were being called mosquito killers.

Did the shop perform a compression test prior to tear down? If not Id ask about that, good luck on whatever you chose.
