Default Harley Vehicle Hold control

I decide it was time to try the VHC on the 2020 RG Limited. I like it. Works as advertised

For us poor low-life’s with bikes not so equipped, care to share exactly what VHC does?

it's Hill Hold Assist.....you just squeeze the front brake lever or apply the brake pedal in gear when stopped and it holds you there....much handier and useful than I ever imagined it would be...it was the one feature I scoffed at with RDRS when I got my bike.."I been riding my whole life I don't need no stinkin' stupid help starting on a hill"....FF 22,000 miles and it's awesome and use it all the time!!!

I test rode the 2020 touring bikes last year at Bikes, Blues and BBQ. I thought that feature worked great. I never got to try the other features but probably worth the extra grand for it over the life of the bike.

As I understand it only works while bike is in gear, so you still have to hold the clutch in. Would be nice if you can work it out of gear and clutch out. Feel free to correct me if wrong.

TPMS is great and two traction control settings are very valuable and mine light off pretty frequently on slick surfaces. We ride year around in the PNW and deal with wet leaves, pine needles, moss, gravel, mud, rain you name it on coastal, country, mountain and river roads. Even just my stock 114 has plenty of torque to get one in trouble with. Also experienced cornering abs and that is good to have for obvious reasons

Let's see, starting on a hill on a chopper with suicide shift and no front brake....
  • Sit on hill with bike in neutral and foot on back brake pedal
  • Light turns green, let off brake and put right foot down
  • Put left foot on clutch pedal and reach down with left hand to put bike in gear. It's starting to roll backward!
  • Give it some throttle and let off the clutch pedal while rolling backward and don't kill it!
Yeah, that would have been handy.
