Default Primary Locking Tool Dimensions

I'm going to make my own lock bar to install my shiny new CycleRama comp-ramp and was wondering if anyone could give me the dimensions of the tool or improvised tool they use in their toolbox.

For a 2020 M8 Fat Boy.

I have a piece of bar stock that is just dying to become a primary lock bar tool.

Thanks,
Bill

Can't remember length and out town but used a 3/8" ratchet extension last time at a friends place and it worked great.
If no one replies, won't take you but a second to figure your length once in there.
Also there is LOTS of discussion on replacing the big hex bolt but some dealers don't even stock them as they reuse them.
Your new part may come with new bolt and new bolt is only around $5, so I keep one or 2 on hand as cheap insurance.
Ride Safe✌🏼

For $10.00 delivered, hardly worth the effort. More time for beer!

9.99 part + 14.39 shipping = $24.38 USD = $31.38 CAD

That's a 24-pak of beer lol

Thanks for the link!

Well there’s your answer at least, 7.125” or 180.975mm in the metric stuff used up there…

This is my custom made one for my ‘12 103. It’s made from oak, and as such didn’t have to worry about it damaging teeth.

You can likely find something in your tool box that will work. I have used extensions as mentioned above, but I used a rear axle nut wrench recently as well. Anything solid and close to correct length will do.
