07 compared to an M8.

stock M8 much less slop thats for sure
as mentioned above, new tires always feel nice, finding the adjustment for your set up and roads.
Im thinking my 2020 seems to handle bumps in (general) better ,but the 07 thinner tires have an advantage point. you might have been noticing that too.

just got a new tire and they took a non advertised discount off for winter, there was a flyer next to the register 10% or 100$ ...they used HD math 65$ off ??

"22 Electra Glide Standard here. The 2-ish inches of travel was actually better than I expected with my wife and a tour pack attached. But by myself, at 175 lbs., it felt like a hardtail - it seemed to have no movement at all. Big sharp bumps threw me out of the seat, and I bobbled around the rest of the time on anything but the smoothest pavement. The Bitubos they sell on DK Custom made a big difference, but I keep even those on the softest setting. I got the progressive springs and "Intiminators" they sell for the front but haven't installed them yet. Still, the current setup is firm but good.

I usually keep my bikes a long time so I don't sweat spending a few bucks to make them as much fun as possible. I bought a RGS in 2017 because I loved the torque and power of the M8 compared to my '07 Street Glide with the big bore 103. The front forks also seemed a vast improvement. Since then I did some serious motor work so it's a lot more spunky that stock, did a custom seat, windshield, LED turn signals and tail lights, etc. I never could get the rear shocks dialed in. You guys know what I'm saying, they are just too stiff for a normal 200 lb. guy, yet they bottom out because they only have 2 inches of travel.. I took a shot and bought 13 inch Legend REVO As. It not only rides a lot better now, but as I was hitting some big sweepers near home, at well over the posted speed limit, I noticed that my rear end no longer hopped or "chattered" in that turn! I thought that was just the way things were. I wasn't even looking for a cure for that. I was so impressed that I bought the Legend AXEO front cartridge kit and installed it. It's about as comfortable as the stock set up, but it stopped the dive of the front forks under hard braking. The bike now feels so much more stable in the twisties, feels like it's on rails! It's also way more comfortable to ride on streets and highways. It never seems to bottom out, the rear shocks do what they are supposed to do, unlike the stockers. Yeah, it cost me over $1900, but the rear shocks are lifetime warranted to the original owner. You can put the originals back on your old bike when you sell it, and put the good ones on your new one. This might not be for everyone, but for me it was worth it for the way I ride. I not only have greater comfort, I have the security of a way better performing bike, and the enjoyment of a great handling big ol' bagger!
