I installed Harley's Full Engine Hardware Kit three years ago. The finish has held up well and I want to start replacing the miscellaneous fasteners to match. Anyone know what the finish is and/or where they are available. I have considered black chrome and powder coat but they won't really match the HD bolts. Also concerned about the powder coating chipping during installation.

Could they be black oxide coated stainless steel? You can try Mcmaster to find examples but you'll have to buy them..

 

the oxide coating can be a mfer to deal with in the elements, there is a few companies that make other coated bolts

 

Pretty sure they are not black oxide treated. No surface rust after three years. My past experience with black oxide treated bolts in the past is it doesn't take much before they start showing rust.

 

Black ox on stainless steel will not rust.
