Anyone had State Farm total out on a single bike accident?
Bought a left-over 2019 four months ago and totalled it two weeks ago. Tree had fallen across the road at night. HP report says I was driving the speed limit and it couldn't be helped.
State Farm is totalling the bike so I'm wondering what kind of hell I am in for.
Anyone dealt with SF on a similar issue? Was it low-ball shenanigans? How well did the take care of you?

In most cases stuff like this is simple. Adjuster will do the numbers you should come out just fine depending on coverage you had. What you read on line most of the time is people that think they are suppose to make money on the deal. get the bike back and put it back on the road.
You may find right now offer maybe higher that you expect. Bike prices have been going up. Likely only 4 months there is no real difference.
It will go a lot smoother than you think. You did not mention injuries so, sounds like you came out ok.

If its just the front end it should be fixable. Is the neck toast? If it needs a frame its usually not worth the trouble. I agree with smitty that it seems most people think they should make money when they total out a bike, I will never understand why. Did the adjuster see the bike at all or are you assuming it's going to be totaled. Also you didn't mention the model. If its a softail it might be easier to put a new front end on than if its a street or road glide.

Totaled a 2017 RGU in NOV 2020. No question it was totaled. Hauled straight to HD dealership. 40,000 miles on it with a sidecar two full winters of salt road riding and it showed. Ended up with $3,600 less than I paid new for it OTD. Also got my new exhaust that was not damaged back, My S&S cam and oil pump. Tuner and WHIM . Dealer swapped out all that for free.
That was way over NADA best price on it. At the time NADA was about 16,000 to 18,000 Settlement took 7 days 23,000 direct deposit. Adjuster said it took a couple days as the current market had effected prices and they had to adjust it up. I had no complains.
Sidecar was not on when crash happened.
Best of luck with it all . It should not be a big issue.
