Sold my Fatboy a few months ago and have some things left.

Up for sale are two 100th Anniversary Helmets. Large and a Small. I've never used them but they were possible lightly used by previous owners (came with the bike when I bought it). There are some very light scratches on the small and a couple chips on the large.

Passed this on to a buddy who rides an 03 gunmetal Road King, his wife rides an 03 gunmetal heritage. I thought he might be interested. He informed me that it's illegal to wear a helmet older than 5 years from date code/tag in the helmet. Is this a real thing?? First I've heard of it.

Edit: just checked the two helmets I bought last summer for the wife and I, they're marked 2015, WTF, do I lose 2 years of use??

 

I don't know on that. Would guess it has to do with what state you are in.

Ohio we don't have to wear helmets so I would assume it wouldn't matter how old it is.

No sorry they sold almost 2 years ago.

 

In the long journey life as a motorcyclist I loved to use the best quality products for my safety. I'm very strict to myself in this matter. I used to spend a huge amount on the safety tools like helmet. I used many brands of helmets. Best Helmets of Harley Davidson gave me a different experience. I suggest my friend to use helmet for their safety because life is more important then anything. So never compromise on your safety and go the best helmet, which obviously can be made my Harley Davidson.
