Salida, Co ... Memorial Day Weekend?

RE: Salida, Co ... Memorial Day Weekend?
Looks like fun. Unfortunatly, I'll be in San Francisco that week end.
Salida is a beautifull area. We ride out there for lunch a lot. There's a great pizza place a couple blocks off main street. They have a wood fired stove and make their own beer.
Either rt50 or rt24 is nice. I often take a big loop out one and back the other (I live in Colorado Springs). It's only a 230 mile circle - perfect for an easy day ride.

KT,
I went last year and thought there were better rally's to visit in Colorado. The weather in the mountains can be pretty upredictable and it wasn't that good on that particular weekend. If I was making a run to Colorado I'd wait and go to Cripple Creek in August.

RE: Salida, Co ... Memorial Day Weekend?
The Salida Memorial Rally was conceived after two bikers were killed in the area of Red River and the law in New Mexico did practically nothing. They were killed when a kid with no license in his grandaddys truck hit them head on. He got off with a slap on the back of his hand. All hush hush.... but two decent men were killed and their other halfs were severely screwed up for the rest of their lives.
Watch your *** if you ride in New Mexico. They can't drive and their laws are WAY crazy.
