RE: Fshing Trip in 9/07 to Yellowstone
Just got back from there and had a great time. Would leave today to go again if I could.
If this is a fishing trip, here is a suggestion.
Fish Rock Creek just North of Red Lodge, Montana. The lady at the fly shop in Red Lodge can fix you up with the right flys.
In Wyoming, DO NOT miss fishing the North Tongue River in the middle of the Big Horn Mountains between Powell and Sheridan, Wyoming. Just start fishing upstream from the bridge where Alt. 14 crosses the river. Watch out for moose in the willows.
In 4 and 1/2 hours I caught more fish at one time than I can ever remember. Mostly Cutthroat, which must be returned to the water immediately, all in the 12" to 18" range. These were all caught on dry flies, mostly a size 18 Parachute Adams.
Happy angling.
Regards,
Bill

If you're gonna be anywhere near West, you owe it to yourself to ride along Hebgen and Quake lakes on US 287, after you pass the visitors center at the "Slide" area ( which is an awesome sight) stop in at The Slide Inn and have Kelly (the owner) hook you up and fish the Madison..it's awesome!!
Here's a nice little brownie...
