Long time lurker
I been lurking, but I am a lifetime biker, riding for 50 years. Lot's of bikes down the years, so many I lost count at well over 70. I had a Dyna as first HD, but it turns out I'm a Sportster man, on my 4th one. Now at age 65 I prefer my '97 883 STD. Much smoother engine than my bought new 2003 1200, which I sold when I was too sick/weak to ride. Really bummed me out. I fought my way back to health and riding. Bought 5 new Honda's as I first needed a tiny scooter to learn to ride again with crutches. Then I moved up. Second a new Honda PCX125 scooter, it was stolen. Then 2 Honda 230cc Enduros and last a CBR250R. I sold them all as soon as I could move on. I finally found a very nice '97 883, I don't want a rubber mount, which is why I bought the 2003 1200, as I knew it was last of the line.
Got the 883, right here next to me in my cave and getting it ready for a new season, it's snowing now...
Just changed it to a small yellow tank, black fenders, buckhorns and the very necessary for me clutch mods. Best Barnett cable and German throwout bearing really makes the difference for me. ymmv
