So I just picked up a 2015 Softail Deluxe (Mysterious Red Sunglo / Blackened Cayenne Sunglo) and I also have a 2015 Limited Low. The Limited is the same color combo as the Softail but for some reason they didn't pinstripe the Limited like they did the Softail, so I'm planning to have it pinstriped so the two bikes match.

Does anyone know the 2015 pinstripe paint codes and which ones they used on the Softail Deluxe with the Mysterious Red Sunglo / Blackened Cayenne Sunglo color combo? I Googled and searched my @ss off and found nothing that shows pinstripe codes.

I plan to call my dealer to see who they have do their body work and maybe get them to do the pinstripe, so perhaps they can tell me. I just thought I'd see if anyone here had the paint catalog so I can verify what they tell me (wouldn't be the first time they told me something wrong).

Darn good question. I would like to know the pin strip color of the red on my silver and black RGU.

 

My bike (same color as yours, Mysterious and Blackened) got slight damage in my garage, a piece of pipe fell over onto the front fender, landed right on the pinstripe and slid along the fender scratching up the clearcoat. I did a little research and was directed to a local pinstriper. He matched the pinstripe color perfectly, he kept mixing, dabbing and wiping until he got it perfect and then re-striped the damaged area, other then a very small ding from the pipe you can't tell there was any paint damage. He also repaired the clearcoat, job came out great and total charge, $60 for about an hours labor. Maybe check out your local pinstriper, good luck!

 

I know someone that does really nice pinstriping with vinyl tape but it has an edge to it that makes cleaning, waxing, etc a pain. I want the pinstripes painted on so it's a smooth edge and easier to care for.

Do you need to clearcoat painted pinstripes?

It seems like it would protect the pinstripe a lot more but I'm guessing they would also have to take my bike half apart in order to clear coat it. The front fender, upper fairing, gas tank, side panels, saddlebags and tourpak all would get pinstriped.

 

To be done correctly, Clear needs to be applied over the pinstripes.
