I watched the vids, figured "if he can do it, I can dot" and had at it. So far so good, but I am at a stopping point: it seems that the 2016 SGS has a different plug for the TBW--it's not the typical larger green plug, but a smaller plug that pulls through fairly easily. The problem is that there is another plug next to the TBW plug--a 2-wire deal (black and white) and I can't for the life of me remember where to plug it--or if it was plugged in at all... ARGH! Help?
I'm Pretty sure that is for heated grips which you most likely don't have. Just leave it unplugged if I remember correctly (even if that's not what it's for). Just did a RGS for a buddy a few weeks ago and he had the same plug.

Thank you!!
Ps: feeding wires through bars is just one step below a dental visit... Lol

Affirmative ^ ................ I have one with HG's and one without!
All done and buttoned-up. Next time i do something like this, I'll take some pictures along the way to remember things like this. It wasn't difficult at all, save for the wire-through-the-bars frustration. Can't imagine paying $1000+ for labor to do this...
I hear you about the $$$$ for labor! I have been a part of 3 Street Glide and 1 Road Glide handle bar swaps and none of them have been too "difficult". Mine will be getting done a 2nd time this fall to go with taller bars.
I put 10" Yaffe monkey bars on my '15 SGS and l cussed like a sailor running the wires thru the bars. Even had the older tbw harness without the green plug. Love how they fit and feel though.
I've done one set of 14's on a pre-Rushmore bike and three sets on Rushmore bikes. The Rushmore bikes are a piece of cake compared to the pre-Rushmore bikes. Still, pulling the wires through is the hardest part of the job.

Yup I agree! My bike was the first one that I swapped bars on (10" Yaffee bars 1" bars) the wires are on the outside of the bars. They look okay but they could be better. The other bikes I have done or helped on all have had 1 1/4 bars and the wires are inside. So I am going to change mine out with 12"s and put the wires inside.
