I am installing 13 inch apes on my bike. I bought a kit from Hill Country. I am having trouble figuring out the wire extending process. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TBW – The plug coming from the handlebars is a male. HCC kits provide extension wires with plug ends attached (male/female). How do you remove the male plug ends for the Molex plugs? Do you need to take the plug apart, if so what is the procedure for this? I read the section in the owner’s manual on connection plugs and still can’t figure it out.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Yup...you gotta take the plugs apart...fairly simple...plug extension into the existing wires and use the provided shrink wrap over the wire connection..install the plugs on the new extended wires..make sure the proper wire go back into the same spot it was on the plug.
