Default Is it possible to remove the communication plug

Is it possible to remove the communication plug on the gas tank bib and replace it with a USB plug? I will never use the communications system.

Anything is possible. I don't know of any after market part to put a USB connector there however, you'd likely have to fabricate something.

Couldn't you put a non-communication tank bib on there? JP Cycles has something that may work as well.

Yes, that panel is stuck on with double stick tape. Carefully pry it off and you can remove the ICS Jack. There's plenty of room under there to stow it. You could install something like this..

I didn't ck the dimension on this particular one, but I like the idea. This one is nice because it's designed for marine application and has the cover.

Personally I don't use comm either and I think that whole panel is butt ugly. I removed it, fabbed a contoured lexan panel, and color matched it. It looks nice and clean, and it's easy enough to restore to stock if need be. Don't have a picture handy.

Any chance we can get a pic please?

I'll never use the comm. port either.
For me, the fairing panel is better suited for sunglasses rather then my phlash drive.

I've been thinking about removing the comm. port from the bib, adding a USB port to the bib, remove the USB port from the fairing, leave it in the fairing and run the bib USB to it.
