Escort Wounded Warriors MD to NY Oct. 30
Fellow members, just received this off another site, spread the word!
This is a go.
Nam Knights of America has received a request to coordinate a Motorcycle Escort for a bus carrying some our Wounded Warriors on Friday October 30, 2009 into New York City. Approximately 25 Soldiers will be coming for this year’s in New York City.
We are working at the request of the event organizers to get this escort set up. We did a Wounded Warrior Motorcycle Escort in Nov. 2008 and the emotional impact on the Warriors, as well as the riders was something none of us will ever forget.
To make this ultra successful, I am requesting the cooperation and participation of my Brother Nam knights. It would be terrific if we had five or six members or more from each of the chapters in the area. Participation is a matter of individual choice.
Here is the scheduled plan as of right now.
We will meet at the Sunoco Staten South Avenue in Staten Island Friday October 30, at 7:30 am and hope to be on our way at 7:45 am. We will make a stop at Molly Pitcher Service Center (between Interchanges 8A and South bound to pick up any riders from the Parent Chapter and then on to the Clara Barton Service Center (between Interchanges 2 and 1) to meet up with the Delaware Valley Chapter.
Meet the New Jersey State Police at the foot of the Delaware Memorial Bridge at end of the NJ Turnpike at 11:00 am Escorted the bus to the Grover Cleveland Service Center (between Interchanges 11 and 12), at that time we will meet up with Rolling Thunder, Blue Knights, and any other riders.
Escort the bus up Turnpike, through the Lincoln Tunnel and on to the
Union League Club at East 37th Street and Park Avenue. A Full Police Escort (Port Authority Police and NYPD) has been requested and is being coordinated by the organizers.
The press is scheduled to be in NYC. Please come out in force for this.
Please let me know via e-mail to Tmannkmc@aol.com or Cell 917.440.2468 if you plan to attend.
