Bike weeks are not what they used to be.

 

I went over today, not to the rally but to a club party. Last year I went over just to look for a seat. Was there for a hot minute then left.

 

We rode up Friday, returning home yesterday. Weather was pretty perfect, especially Saturday. Friday, very windy, we came in from Vermont riding to Concord on 202, so we stopped at Makris for Chowdah. Then to the track, I saw the tank covers from moving blankets, looked good. No demo ride but did get my HOG pin. Then we rode to The Weirs for my Rally Patch/Pin. Only traffic was coming back around on Route 3 to the bridge, the rest was fine. Then 11 all the way to Rochester where we met up with friends, we all stayed at Governors Inn for the weekend. Highly recommend, two restaurants, outdoor venue with a band, etc, etc. Real good spot.

Saturday had us Riding to The Big Catch on Newfound Lake to meet some more friends for lunch. Then a ride around the lake stopping in Alton Bay for libations then to the Hawg Pen to play pool. Get back to hotel, now there are three separate parties going on on the grounds.

Sunday ride home started with rain, but within 30 minutes sunshine and heat. Lots of traffic on 495, 90 and Merritt Parkway but we made it back to Bridgeport for the ferry ride home. Great short Bike Week.

 

We probably crossed paths in Alton Bay and or Newfound Lake [rt 3a] on Saturday-- we made a loop around from N Conway 302 to Twin Mt to 3 to 3a to Bristol 104 to Meredith to 25 to Cornish Me, [ Bayhaven restaurant] to 153 Conway then Bear Den rd to Kanc and back to Hotel in N Conway--beautiful day-- cold beer to finish the evening

 

We were staying so close to Maine I wanted to do Wally's, Old Orchard Beach, Iron Tail and Bentley's, ran out of days!?!??! Next time.

Best Montauk Wavechaser I've had in a while...

 

We were on the 3:45 ferry and yes they tasted very good after the hot traffic filled ride home. Merritt Parkway was no bueno.
