Where are good places to stay? Not to far out as this will be our 1st trip up there. I still see a lot of places still have rooms.

Check out the Margate. Close enough to the action (about 4 miles from the weirs). I really doubt that they have rooms left though. You might end up further than you want but to me that's a good thing. Been going for 5 straight years and every year I get further away. One day of looking at 500 T shirt vendors is enough for me. It's more about the ride.

Stay in conway!!!!! the ride to bike week is a good one and the chances of finding vacancy are greater. besides bike week kinda blows It's cool to waste a few hours but after that it just become a dreadful parking lot. I know one thing I'm buying one of those refillable tin soda mugs cause last year I must have spent about 50 bucks in bottled water and soda.[:@] If you've been you know what I'm talking about. And if anyone wants to meet up I'll be by the deep fried turkey legs[sm=icon_rock.gif] which is probably the main reason for me going to bike week.

Heck yeah it does!!!! try one there only 5 bucks I went to a support 81 party and my buddies dad did all the cooking and they deep fried 6 turkeys. I have to say deep fried turkey rolled in whatever rub he uses was better than any thanksgiving day turkey I've ever had. I find bike week and other events that have the turkey legs tend to use low class turkey and they seem to be bonier than usual but I still love it. Plus I feel like more of a man eating a huge leg in public

Laconia is a day ride from Bar Harbor......usually run over a couple different days during Bike Week. Its a 5 hour ride over, look around and stuff the gut, buy a tee shirt, then head back to the homefront.
Good luck finding accomodations......

Bar harbor?!?!?! That is a good run right there I did bar harbor for the first time last year. I been before but only with my parents camping as a youngster. I loved every minute of it let me tell you, the views and sights were just as I remembered from my early childhood. Im still in my late childhood so I figured I'd check it out, and I'm glad I did.

It is a 600 mile run up to laconia for me. 1 day up, 3 days there, 1 day back.
