To those of you who run ATF in your primary

Ive always ran a pro clutch from Rivera Primo with regular type F ATF, no synthetic and clutch holds strong enough to break the next weak link down the chain before it slips, plus finding N is never an issue, but I think half the time people have a hard time finding N its a clutch adjustment issue not fluid unless they way over filled.

Palm Springs. I do change it with every 3k mile regular oil / filter change and it always comes out looking nasty from the heat it
has endured. Realizing that synthetic oils do offer some, albeit small, protection at high temps I decided to give ACDelco Dexron 6
a try. I checked my internal clutch adjustment, overnight drained and cold, and it was where I last set it - 5/8 turn out on the rod
adjustment and then set my cable / lever free play. My 2013 FLHTX Limited takes 38 oz of ATF to properly set the primary oil
level. Last weekend I did two days of running around with some friends and managed to put over 300 miles on my scoot. I
must admit that the change to ATF 6 did make shifting smoother and neutral easier to find. Now I'm an old fart set in my ways
and I got to say if I don't try it for myself I'm not inclined to believe it. Fwiw - just my experience.
