Default 2009 Night Train oil leak, Help

I found oil drops/ splashes on the right side of my bike, and it’s apprars to be coming from my air breather, around the bottom part of the gasket area.

Im not a mechanic, but I’m gonna assume that it’s the air breather gasket. I do have an after market Screamin Eagle breather, but this is the first time it has had a leak.

Is this type of leak a common issue with these engines ?

Or does anyone have any other thoughts on the leak ?

Cheers

Oil coming from the breather/intake is situation normal for a Harley; the pistons are as big as small paint cans and they create a lot of crank case pressure, it has to go somewhere. You have to modify the air cleaner backing plate, add hose and run it to the ground if you don't want oil on the side of your bike. Resist the urge to take someone's advice to run the bike at or near the "add" oil line.

i had the same issues when i did my stage 3 upgrade (before head work).. take a look closely at the 2 sleeves that draw crank case pressure from the heads and go to the breather main body right as it mates to the throttle body.. , they have tiny O rings in there.. mine was spraying a very fine mist from there and collecting everywhere and dripping..

just put it a thicker O ring to compensate if the problem is there, IMO, the original tiny donuts that come with the heavy breather setup are useless with higher compression, changed 2 sets till i went to autozone and bought my own box of O rings and put in a thicker one.. problem solved
