Default Oil MIsting

I'm thinking of buy a 2020-2022 Road Glide Limited, I do not intend to do any more then a Stage 1 at the most if at all. Is oil dripping out of the air cleaner a thing of the past ?

Yes unless you read forums, so don't read these anymore. Go riding...

of course they do, 'misting combustion residue' is how they are designed to as a solution to meet EPA requirements..my 114 stock emits so little it's not worth mentioning..I run it hard to blow the carbon out on a regular basis..I have 55,000 trouble free miles on it and it runs as good now as it ever has, which is great..I just keep riding and servicing it and expect it to keep performing flawlessly unless something unusual happens

Even on my old evo misting is not an issue. I had installed a catch can and the amount of oil in it after a highway trip was very small, and most was just water. So I took the catch can off and just run it with the stock breather set up. I don't know how they do the breathers on the newer bikes but on this vintage of bike the breather tube enters the back of the filter and and any liquid just runs down it and the bottom of the filter catches any fluid. It doesn't vent directly into the intake. I've never had any drips, so I don't worry about it anymore.

I did a stage 1 on my 2022 107 M8 Road King a few months ago. It has misted some since it was new. I'm up to 10,500 miles now. The end of the tube coming from the hollow bolts is wet, but nothing is dripping or getting on the filter.

I suppose if it did get bad, I could just install a catch can..

not unless hd got smart and changed their system. the BIGGEST issue is where they expel the vapor, in the most laxy flow area, they need to take a lesson from rice. i modified mine and have no issues because it is in an area where flow is high, no time for particulate matter to drop out. working fine since 2001 and i push the machine hard at times, red lines at 7.5k, easy cruise at 5k puts the speedo out to the pasture.
