Oil Testing
Anyone do regular oil testing? This is my 2021 Road Glide with 144K miles. The bike I did the 100/100 on. I’ve started doing the test every oil change now. Provides good insight and hopefully catch something before something major goes wrong.
they last longer when you ride them!! 😎

Impressive mileage in two years. And testament to the quality of Harley engines that the oil test still comes up clean. Good stuff.
What is the major gain from oil testing? Is it just longer oil change intervals, thus saving you a few bucks every 5 or 10 thousand miles? Or does it somehow prolong engine life by knowing how much metal etc is in the oil? Or is it used as a diagnostic to tell you if, say, cam chain tensioners are coming apart, so you can basically run to (initial) destruction rather than replacing them at scheduled intervals whether they need it or not as preventive maintenance? Again, saving a few bucks every 100,000 miles or whatever.

The gain is hopefully catching something before something catastrophic happens. Hopefully see a deterioration in something?? Not sure. I get free maintenance, so I'm not trying to push services out. When I did my 100/100 ride, I was only doing them every 10K so I've somewhat just been sticking to that. I'll go 5K if I'm around, but not a big deal if I'm out on a trip.

I do on my diesel truck because the engine costs a fortune. I never have on a motorcycle because the cost of analysis would cost me more over the life of the engine than simply rebuilding the engine. In your case I would only to keep an eye on it and make sure nothing is fishy at that mileage. Which, by the way, congrats for getting to ride like that. Most of us would kill for that kind of time.

I use Polaris Labs, and have for years, mostly because our shops had accounts already set up through the engine companies we rep'd.
I have stretched a few oil changes to the max using the SOS results, and synthetic on my tuned LML.
I have to admit, I did not do any this year, mostly because my results are always so un-interesting.
After the 128 build on the bike I did them on the first few oil changes. Mostly due to the recommendations for shorter intervals on the 128. Based on the results, the oil was doing just fine at 5000 miles. I have been going 6000 with synthetic.
