SAME IN ALL 3 HOLES
OK, I have always rode SPORTSTERS till I bought my new NIGHTTRAIN. I just had the 1000 service done and changed over to synthetic in all 3 holes. It appears that they put the same harley synthetic in all 3 holes. I am going to do my own oil change services from now on, can I use the Mobil V-Twin synthetic in all 3 holes instead of using a different oil in each hole???

RE: SAME IN ALL 3 HOLES
Use the 20w50 in the engine & primary but use a 75w90 or 85w140 in the trans. Much better shifting. The 20w50 will work in the trans but gear oil is better.

RE: SAME IN ALL 3 HOLES
A lot of people seem to put Harley's synthetic oil in all three holes. The Owner's Manual for 2008 touring models makes no mention of such a practice, at least as far as I can find. The manual does say to use "Genuine Harley-Davidson Formula+ Transmission and Primary Chaincase Lubricant (PN 99851-05)". For the primary it says to "only" use Formula+ (page 159).

RE: SAME IN ALL 3 HOLES
I made the samemistake
After 4 months of rearch I have found that sny3 is at best ok for the engine a NO GO for the transmission and not right for the primary
M1 VTWIN engine 20/50 true sny oil
HD for+ for primary
Redline shock proof heavy or Spector,s GL 5 for 6 speeds
I used the redline because it is easyer to get than spectro
Ihope you read everything here understand it and get the sny3 out of you transmission this man is rightI have reasearched his point.
