[quote=porschetech1111;9077293]If synthetic oils are bad then why do the premier motorcycle and automobile manufacturers (Porsche, Audi, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Harley Davidson, Agusta, Maseratti, and numerous other Motorcycle manufacturers (extreme performance) "factory fill" with Synthetic? To compare an ancient 60's oil with todays synthetic oils is ludicrous! Do some research.

Amsoil - NOT TRYING TO START AN OIL WAR!
I'm not trying to start an oil war just tell my story. I just switched out my Mobil 1 20-50 engine oil (3K on it), Redline Shockproof (5K on it) and HD primary (5K on it) to Amsoil in all 3 holes and can tell a HUGE difference all around.
I've had Syn3 and Mobile 1 in the engine and the Amsoil is much quieter than both. I'm not able to do much of a temperature analysis (I use Harleydroid on my phone to see head temps) because it's been cool the past could days but I will be checking it out when it gets warmer. Shifts are now noticeably quieter and I was able to shift at lower RPMs without feeling like I was lugging. When shifting at 30mph into 3rd, 40mph into 4th and 50mph into 5th my bike always felt like it was lugging (because it is) just a bit so I always went up about 5mph from those speeds if just putting around. That lugging feeling is now gone at those speeds but I'm still going to shift at the higher range because it's better for the bike.
I'm not a dealer and have no horse in this race but wanted to give a review of what I've seen with my most recent fluid change. I do have a buddy that buys it at dealer cost so splitting shipping charges when he just ordered something worked out to be $10.50 per quart. I'm planning on sticking with the Amsoil in all 3 holes going forward unless there is something that rocks the Harley fluid world and everyone has to use it.

I've had the same experience. Switched to amsoil 20w50 in all 3 holes on my RK, and the smoother shifting and running was noticeable. Its the only stuff I'll put in my scoots going forward.
I took a sample of the motor oil at about 18 months and less than 1k miles and sent it in to blackstone for analysis. They said the oil looked great, high TBN, and wear metals were very low. They told me to put another 1k miles on the oil and check back.
I had good used oil analysis reports with amsoil in my 4 wheel vehicles too, better than Mobil 1 even. I'm trying a different group 4 synthetic in my other vehicles right now, and when it is time, I will compare the oil analysis to my previous amsoil analysis. Motor oil is the 1 thing I wont cheap out on, and I'm a cheap bastard . I take oil samples and send them in to blackstone every time I change the oil on all of my vehicles. I will do this until I can establish which oil is the best for my vehicles, then I will stretch out my analysis to every other oil change, just to check up on wear metals.
