for those running Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w-50: I just found a local parts store that stocks it. Our local Autozone keeps it on the shelf for $8.89/quart. I thought it was a great deal.

Sometime ago, I read a comment from an individual that was concerned regarding switching his oil for fear of voiding his warranty. Not true. As long as you utilize an oil within spec or better,m your warranty cannot be infringed upon. For information oin this look up The" Magnuson Act".

Does it really make a difference what brand? All synthetic should be the same.

Amsoil only !!! 20w50 in the engine & primary 75w90 in the tranny

I had over 70k on my oem stock engine when I went to upgrade to a 95" kit when I took my cylinders off to have them bored out, The Master engine builder at HD said they showed very little wear, In addition my cam chain tensioners , you all know the ones that wear out @ 20-30k well mine were in acceptable condition @ 70k with only moderate wear on them. So I am a true believer in Amsoil , been using it sine around 10k on the bike & plan to keep using it.

After all it is the first Syn Oil ever produced for the automotive market 35 years strong !!!

I RUN AMSOIL IN MY '07 STREETGLIDE. IT SEEMS TO RUN HOTTER(245F)THAN THE HARLEY 20-50, BUT STAYS CLEANER LONGER. I WILL BE CHANGING OIL FILTERS EVERY 2500MILES FROM NOW ON AND SEE WHAT IMPROVEMENT THIS MAKES.I WANT TO ADD ANOIL COOLER BECAUSE ALL AIR COOLED MOTORS SHOULD HAVE ONE(OIL IS THE LIFE BLOOD OF AN ENGINE), SO ANY RECOMMENDATIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I READ THAT THE HD PREMIUM OIL COOLER IS NOT AS GOOD AS OTHER AFTERMARKET MODELS. EXPERIENCED USERS ANYONE?
Yes you are correct oil is the life blood of your engine , how ever an oil cooler will only help if there is air running across it, in my experience people who use oil coolers, don't see much difference, also keep in mind you oil needs to be kept at a certain temp in order to vaporize any moisture in the oil, In addition pure Syn oil can easily handle temps above 300 deg f, although your bike should never reach that temp, 245 is a fine temp, my bike usually runs around 230 deg.
So unless you live in a place where the average temp is above 100 deg every day I would not recommend installing an oil cooler , I t only adds points for oil leaks & other issues .

...an oil cooler will only help if there is air running across it...
Reach down and grab hold of an oil cooler on a Harley on a hot summer day while sitting in traffic. You will get a fairly significant burn.
That is because the oil cooler is removing heat from the oil and transferring it to the cooler surroundings. As long as the ambient air around the cooler is a lower temp than the surface of the oil cooler itself, heat will transfer.

While you would be correct in saying an oil cooler works best when air is flowing across it, to say that it will only help if air is running across it is wrong.

Not only does an oil cooler radiate heat while stationary, the oil also cools much faster once you start moving with a cooler than without.

This might help to clear the air but it might just muddy the waters as well...
