please forgive me if my English is bad...

my friend brand new street glide 2018 CVO break down just after done 190 KM. the break down was during he traveling on the express way speed around on 110KM/H. my friend call back H-D and send back to the service central and the service tech told him the break down is from the engine. the tech in H-D Malaysia say the main issues cos the bike break down is due to the oil pump was not functioning .but why the piston and top over head cam all have been broken in to pieces ? any once of the member here face this issues ? H-D Malaysia was not able to replace him a new bike but to repair the bike for him . he collect his bike just two week and already park in H-D service central for almost 1 and half month .

question : can he ask for a refund ? exchange a new bike as he no longer trust this bike quality .

H-D Malaysia look like did not willing to refund his money as well exchange a new bike for him .

what my friend can do now ?

This is a known issue with the early built M8 engines called Sumping. Caused by Oil pump failure

H-D will replace the engine since it's under warranty...don't know about the refund policy in ur country and dealership's thought..plz post this issue in the following section to get more responses. Good luck

I have it too. The problem was just with the oil pump. I had to replace it.
