The first Speed and Craft Championship was held on 31st March - 1st April 2023. It is one of the most famous custom events in Taiwan since Covid, attracting hundreds of skilled builders and bike enthusiasts.
There are two divisions in the competition: Performance and Free Style with 48 participants showcasing their unique and creative designs. The rule is: 48 participants vote for each other except themselves, similar to AMD. Only one winner in the Performance division and three winners in the Free Style.
All bikes stood out in the crowd with its unique and innovative design, incorporating a range of custom-made parts and cogitated design. Speed and Crafts invited 3 special guests from Japan, they are: Yuichi Yoshizawa of Custom Works Zon, Kaichiroh Kurosu of Cherry’s Company and Kengo Kimura from Heiwa Motorcycle to share their bike building experience and to also to be judges as well.
The Winner of the Performance division is Fangster Performance Bagger. (Fangster is an experienced manufacturer in parts in Taiwan, with more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing motorcycle parts and on 2017 established Fangster brand.)
The top three of the Free Style are:
1st 2 Loud Custom - Custom Bobber(2 Loud Custom is one-man operation workshop by Max Ma, who has won sheet metal shaping national at the age of 19)
2nd AFS Custombikes -SYM 90 (AFS custom is a well known workshop not only in Taiwan but also worldwide, who has more than 15 years of experience in customization and specialized in welding.)
3rd Team Trinity - Midnight Glider ( Midnight Glider is independent participant who is custom enthusiast and it is one of his custom bikes)
Three guests had their own picks, and they were stunned by all participants and gave high credit on their work. As one of them said: “I am surprised to see Taiwan has so many talented designers to participate in this event, and Taiwan definitely has its potential to win any competition worldwide.”
