Have been out twice here in Nova Scotia.
The second time I probably shouldn't have. I went a little further North where there was still 1 foot of snow on the ground. Lots of run off going across the roads which means salt, mud, oil, etc. Bad idea!! Spent 6 hours cleaning the bike afterwards!!

The riding season pretty much starts in the middle of April around these parts

Out again today for a short ride. That's three days so far and I'll be going out again tomorrow for 3-400 km. I declare the riding season officially open.

Was out a few times in the last two weeks of March. Rode a bit today as it was sunny.
It is supposed to be clear on Thursday so I might ride in to work. There is not much sand on the road now, but there are some tire eating potholes to watch out for.

Looks like it's going to be 6 or 7 here this weekend as opposed to the -3 today, so should be the first time out. Can't wait!

Just got a SH&TLOAD of rain last night so there in NO MORE SALT!!! Couldn't be happier.
I wish we had sand to worry about!! They use no sand in Nova Scotia, all salt. It sucks!!

I've done about 800 kms so far this year in 3 riding days. Not so bad for the beginning of April. We had a beautiful +15C on Saturday (Mar Th) and Thur (Apr ND) was +17C. Now we're back to the rain with a chance of snow.

No Chinooks in Ottawa. Usually winter lasts longer. We'll take an early spring!
