I just recently moved to vegas. It's been a dream of mine to ride the Pacific Coast. Any suggestions on time of year to go? Maybe set up some kind of trip if anyone is interested?

 

Anytime is a great time to ride that road. I would suggest Vegas to Bakersfield, then Hwy 58 through buttonwillow to pismo beach. then up the 1 all the way to San Fran. Its a Beauty.

 

I'm in Vegas too. Looking to do a Cali ride sometime sooner than later.

I'm on the Summerlin side of town. Frequent Henderson area, work at Nellis.

 

Forget about Hwy along the Pacific Coast for now as a good chunk of it is closed due to collapsing bridge and landslides.

 

Yes, check with "CalTrans" website for hwy closures/reroutes and other info.

Also check "CalFire" as they have a monster in the Yosemite area right now.

Best time to ride PCH? I like October (early) as the kids are back in school, the Zonies have gone home, and the snowbirds haven't arrived in their Winnebago's yet. And, it's generally not foggy like it is now...(in the summer.)
