Thanks for the comparison picture. I'm in agreement with you regarding the additional coverage on the low side, my GIVI doesn't go down that far.

Loving the motor, loving the comfortable riding position. Amazingly strong entry into a highly competitive ADV market!

Default 2021 Harley Pan American S seat...

Bought the bike, it is very nice. currently battery wont hold a charge.

However, that is not why this thread has been started. Got the sciatic, 30 mile ride is a problem. anyone have a suggestion on a after market seat that may deal with this malady Help would be greatlty appreciated Thank you

So its been 2 years since my purchase with 27k miles ridden and I am still smiling. I have only had small issues which have been handle quickly by the wonderful crew at Bootlegger HD in Knoxville, TN. This year alone I have made two 2.5k mile trips ( one west to Nebraska, the other north to Ontario Province) with a 2k trip to Austin TX planned in 2 weeks. This bike has proven itself to be great for road trips and camping. Can’t wait to get it out west in the future.

2 years and 20K miles for me and I love my Pan. Yes I have had some issues, the major one being a failed stator which caused loads of electrical gremlins. Replaced under warranty (after a wait for parts), and battery upgraded to lithium by the dealer. Starter clutch done and the bike runs nearly flawlessly.

I do have the problem that it wont go into neutral when warm unless I give a good blip on the throttle, but there is a service bulletin for that and the dealer is currently waiting for parts and will swap out the entire clutch assembly under warranty (extended).

Other than that, I get a "side stand down" error very occasionally which can cause the bike to cut out. That will also be fixed when the clutch is done.

All in all, I would and will buy another one. I figure most of the teething problems are now sorted. I will wait for the 1300 or 1350 version that is sure to come out in a year or two. Will keep mine until then - love the bike!

How about an RA975S? Any interest floated in that bike?

Not from my side. I don't do enough adventure miles to make the decreased weight worth it. In fact, I have 100% road tires on my Pan right now (Pirelli Road Angel GT 2) and absolutely love it for the kind of touring that I do - which is mainly down to France, Belgium, Germany, Spain to play around on the mountain twisties. So motorway to get there, for which I like a big, heavy, smooth and powerful bike.

For me, the Pan is a super comfortable mile muncher with plenty of luggage capacity, that can play more or less like a sport bike when it matters
