Is it worth the $1,000? No, not even half of that, but I figure you can either have a $25K bike that sounds like a small twin, or a $26K bike that sounds like a $26K 150 HP-ish bike. I would not undo this deal. It makes an incredible difference in sound and feel.
how can I take the db killer off? Is it easy? Thank you

Scroll up to the pics. Use an allen wrench to access the bolt in the DB Killer, remove the screw, then use pliers to grab dB Killer and wiggle out to remove.

Did you remove the DB killer? You should hear a very clear difference.

Took mine out yesterday morning. Massive difference at idle, much throatier and aggressive everywhere else. Probably too loud for touring, but easy enough to put back in. Sounds like a Ducati now.

Installed my SE exhaust yesterday and pulled the DB killer before doing so. I listened to a couple Youtube videos and thought I'd prefer it out. Now after riding it a bit I may put it back in for a while and see which way I like it better. It's growly now, very throaty, don't hear the engine as much and a few backfires on downshifts but it does sound good. I'll probably wait to put it back until after my 500 mile break in so I can hear how it sounds above 5k RPM.

When I installed my SE exhaust, I did not remove the db killer and it did not sound much different then the stock exhaust.

Any long term thoughts on the SE? I'm torn between the SE and the Two Bros. The Two bros seems much louder and i dont really like the strap look. Also i've heard of some issues installing like connector clamps dont line up quite right on 22 and 23's. But its alot cheaper and still sounds good online. The SE has the look i prefer, but it also sounds like its no difference than stock (unless you pull the baffle out). I want to be heard on the road, but also be able to tour on it and not lose my eardrums. I run a SE II on my '05 sportster and its perfect imho.

Personally I am unhappy with my SE exhaust purchase. I have the SE and honestly I hate the tone of the exhaust without the DB killer in. I would sell mine if the offer was reasonable and would replace it with a Scorpion. That is the one I think sounds the best.
