Is a 57 FLH a panhead? i thought it was. So lets start there...
Is it a panhead?
6v, 8v, or 12v?
Any leads on places to get a battery for it?
How about wires and distributors?

yes on pan but it could have different heads making it a shovel pan
yes on 6 volt and 12 volt - BUT 8 volt really who told you that
battery - take a picture of the one you have and the guys will tell you what it is as the system could have been converted to 12 from 6 volt many were
wire harness are available as well as original distributors that operate off the left handle bar
