Default Matte black issue

I recently got my first motorcycle AND my first Harley - a 2015 Street 750. During a recent move, my bike leaned over against my hubby's, and now I've got a couple of squiggly silver "lines" where his clutch lever rubbed against my gas tank. Any ideas for how to get rid of this? The paint/tank itself doesn't seem to be actually scratched, but it won't rub out... Thanks!

you really cant. if it wont wipe away or off then it is there for good. Whatever you do, do not buff it or continuously rub on it. It will put a semi glossy spot in that area. You could try some matte cleaner spray.

I use white distilled vinegar for cleaning my denim paint, it easily gets rid of any grime that's accumulated on the paints surface.

I spray the vinegar onto the paint and leave it for a couple of minutes, I them wipe it off with a micro-fibre cloth.

Job done.
