Default custom length primary chain?

I installed a 25 tooth compensating sprocket on my 93 ultra classic. It had a 24 tooth sprocket. I went to put the stock chain back on and it was way too short. Stock length is 76 links. Only other length I can find is 82 links. I believe I'll need a 78 link chain. Does anybody know where I can find a 78 link primary chain?
Thank you, Stone.

Your clutch basket has a 37 tooth sprocket on it and the 25/37 combo will not work. The 78 pitch chain will be too long.

Here is a link to our chain/sprocket matrix showing which combinations will and will not work.

Thanks Mark. You are correct. My basket has 37 teeth. My friend has an 89 flt and happened to have a used primary chain. I didn't even count the links. I held it up to my original chain and it was a little longer so I just tried putting it together. I was able to get the compensator assembly and hub on with the tensioner. I adjusted the tensioner and got the perfect up and down chain deflection. Everything looked normal with nothing hitting or binding up and the pitch of the chain didn't look bad so I tightened everything up and put it together. I've ridden almost 800 miles now without any problems or abnormal noise. I love the wider ratio and lower hiway rpms. Do you think the chain was just stretched enough to work perfect for me? Do you think I'll be OK the way it worked for me? Should I do something different with the setup? Thank you Mark. It's nice to hear from someone educated and experienced in this matter.

If it's working don't mess with it, you may not have the same luck with a new chain.
