Default Need more torque

I'm trying to attain more throttle response from my 2014 ultra limited. I know it's not a sports bike, but I'd just like a lil passing power when needed. I was thinking of dropping my front gear from the stock 33 sprocket to a 32-31 maybe. How will this effect my bike? Should I or shouldn't I do this?

I changed my stock 32T front pulley to a 30T and loved it. I even changed my rear from a 66T to a 68T to even make it better.

Don't just do a 1T change. That will only lower your gearing by 3%, go ahead and change the front by 2T to get a 6% change - will make the effort pay off.

Thanks man and sorry it took so long to reply I rarely get free time anymore, & I'm still feeling this site out. Thanks for the build too. Another question my new friend, what if any difference in performance is there between a one piece 2-1 exhaust & a 2-1 exhaust with separate head pipes and slip on's.

There should be no difference, all other things equal as long as the connection is sound.

I cant speak for touring bikes too much but some 2 into 1s will work better than others for a particular build. For dynas the best 2 into 1s tend to be the ones with stepped headers and longer baffle/muffler sections - 2 piece or 1 piece is not a performance consideration.

I think you will find that all 2-into-1 exhaust systems come in several pieces, it isn't practical to make and ship them in a single assembly. As Pilot suggests, a change of only one tooth isn't worth it. You have to remove the entire primary to make such a change, so much better to be bold and make a significant change. I think I'm right in saying that the change to 30/68 can be done with the same drive belt, which saves on the cost of a new belt.

On a 09 and up I don't think any gearing change can be done while retaining stock belt. I saw that andrews states it can be done with a 31t but I have also see quite a few guys stating that it cannot be done without swingarm modification. I don't think HD(Gates) makes a 1 tooth shorter belt in 1" , 139t and Falcon belts have a bad reputation for failure. But I do not have first hand knowledge of this.

Harley makes a 139 tooth belt for the trikes, part number 40040-05.
