While researching which spring to buy I was told the Heavy Duty Barnett spring was 384 lbs and the Screamin Eagle spring was 380. Got this info from a long time Harley builder/mechanic

A guy(over on another forum) measured them and found that the barnett hd was the same thickness as the aim 480lb spring and actually was a touch stiffer.

Yes that's the correct part number for the Barnett HD spring.

That is the pn. Measure it. If it's .084" then its at or over 480lbs. SE spring is 380lbs and measures .078".

My stock spring is the one with the blue stripe (258lbs). This Barnett spring is at least twice as hard to pull back than the stock one! Next time I have the spring out of the bike I'll measure it. Thanks for the info!

From another Forum, the Barnett measured 505 lbs and the SE was 375 lbs - a big difference. I have used both and the Barnett is a total PITA during traffic, the SE much more tolerable. Now I have the Bandit clutch and the pull is as easy as stock.

Which forum measured them at 505? I had one come in at 480, another had issues as it had about 30000 miles on it. It was less tho.
