Oil migration from the engine to primary

Oil migration from the engine to primary
2015 FLHXS, 37,000 Miles.
I have noticed a bit of clutch drag on my last couple of rides, complete 3 hole oil change about 2,500 miles ago.
I have added about a 1/4 of quart of oil to the crankcase, I'm using the same oil for all 3 holes.
When I put the bike on my lift to check out the primary, I removed the derby cover and about a half a quart of oil spilled out.
Definitely smells like engine oil,
I was hoping someone could explain how this is happening?

Since you use engine oil in all 3 holes, the oil in the primary has to smell like engine oil, that`s what it is...
Replace sprocket shaft oil seal and spacer, items 13 and 19 in the illustration.

Thanks again for sharing your experience, I was looking at the FSM , and I agree,
I just finished installing a new regulator, stator and compensator along with a new clutch basket and cable on my FXDF, I thought I was going to be able to put my tools away for a little bit, first world problems,
Thanks

About the only way motor oil can migrate into motor is through the crank seal. There could be a porous case. One issue that can be exacerbated if the issue is a plugged motor vent. It happened to a guy over on HTT when the installed the new style head vents in a twincam. Is there anything thing you've done in that area. Rerouted head vents? If not replace the mainshaft seal.
