Yes. It was just as I described in earlier posts. Lots of side "play' between the discs and the basket. I pulled all the plates, checked those, inspected the basket, and reinstalled the plates. I put everything back together. Now, this is where it got a bit interesting. At about the same time, I was reading about stock compensator ramps breaking into pieces. So I figured while I was in there, I'd go ahead and replace it with the newer stock comp ramp. I went to the HD dealer, got me the revised ramp and had a bit of looseness on the comp, so I added one shim. Put all that together, and noticed the noise almost stopped. After thinking about it for a while, I've concluded that the "side play" is normal. But the comp springs, being a bit loose, were allowing a back-and-forth banging around, and causing those plate dogs to rock back and forth in the basket. So far, it's been pretty quiet since, with no other issues.
