Default Neutral light comes on slowly

I have a 2005 Ultra Classic. When I shift the bike in neutral the dash light does not come right on and the radio gets all static. After a couple of seconds the light comes on. Also when shifting betwen 1 and 2 the radio gets static when the dash light does not come on. The dash light comes on but after a few seconds. Any thoughts what is wrong?

Thank you

I would check your neutral indicator switch as well as your speed sensor switch, both being located on top of the tranny. I would pull the speed sensor switch and clean the shavings off of it and replace the o-ring and reinstall. Then I'd check/replace the neutral indicator switch.

I had a similar problem with my neutral light. It turned out to be the module with the neutral light, oil pressure light, high beam indicator, etc.

My neutral switch was loose. It would work on a very cold morning only, was sporadic on a normal day or after the engine was at normal op. temp.
