Figure it might be clutch time...
Hi - Bought a 2008 Electraglide in the Summer - it came with 40,000 miles but was in top notch shape. After a few more miles I am finding that I've run out of adjustment on the clutch cable adjustment and have also confirmed that the adjustment is correct at the clutch pack. At the same time the bike seems to run ok, doesn't slip..., but it is a huge clunk to get the bike into first gear.
Two questions?
#1 - what is the expectation for mileage before the clutch needs to be overhauled???
#2 - I'm not too bad on the home bike repair projects. Any key things to remember, don't do, etc. as I head into the clutch pack???
Any advice is appreciated!

Assuming it wasn't abused, it should live longer than 40K I had 55K on an 07 Road King and never had any clutch issues. Make sure the primary is serviced correctly. If this is your first HD, they can make some noise when putting it in gear. Have a fellow HD person take a listen. Beyond that...???
